"When
people have come to see me seeking to find out what has happened to
their loved ones, obviously I have no idea before their visit what information
they are seeking. But it does seem that in the case of suicides, the
Spirits are most anxious to communicate. What usually is the difficulty
is the loved ones here on the physical plane. It is they who have to
overcome shock, anger, pain, the sense of uselessness, and often, unfounded
guilt. Once it has been explained by those who meet our loved ones on
the other side that their acts were like arrows to the very heart of
those who truly love them, they are eager to communicate, to try to
let their relatives and loved ones know that they are all right. But
grief and sorrow, guilt and anger are like a glass wall to spirit communication
- such emotions are almost impenetrable. At the same time, though, these
emotions are often necessary stages of bereavement, a process that is
good for us, and one we all have to work through at some time
.
I will not condemn the person who decides on suicide, but I would ask
anyone thinking of such an option to please consider the consequences
of their actions as they affect others."
